DW1441 Environmental Stress Crack Resistance Tester (NCTL) is used to evaluate the stress crack resistance of test specimens by notched constant tensile load test. Dumbbell shaped notched test specimens from a polyolefin geomembrane sheet are subjected to a constant tensile load in the present of a surface-active agent and at an elevated temperature.
In this accelerated aging process, the sensitivity of polyolefin geomembrane sheet to stress cracking under constant tensile loading and accelerated environmental conditions can be evaluated by testing the failure oftest specimens at aspecified time and measuring the time of specimen failure.
